NEW DECISION THERAPY: WHAT AND HOW?

What NDT is and why it is needed
New Decision Therapy™ is a mind/body technique that releases clients from their past, thus allowing them to create a new blueprint for their futures.  It was developed by Kandis Blakely, MFCC, a psychotherapist who noticed that no matter how hard some of her clients tried to change, they didn’t seem to be able to.  She came to realize that the things that had happened to her clients were stored not only in their memories but in their whole bodies, their very cells.  (This has since been scientifically proven with research that shows neuropeptides exist throughout our bodies, not just in our brains.)  At this point Blakely knew she had to help people actually release their bodies from holding on to their past, not just their intellect.  This is how she came to develop New Decision Therapy™.

NDT isolates exactly which people or events in the client’s life are causing problems, and through a surprisingly simple set of questions enables the client to release those people or events.  Thus the client’s energy can run freely, with no blocks; the client can live in the present moment, rather than repeating the past.

What actually happens in an NDT session
Together the practitioner and client quickly figure out what people or events are causing conflict in the client’s life.  We do this by using behavioral kinesiology, or muscle response testing.  The practitioner gently pulls on the client’s finger and thumb to determine the body’s response to various people or events: does each person increase or decrease energy flow for the client?  Thus we circumvent the conscious mind and go directly to the subconscious, the memory of your body.  In other words, we listen to your body, and unlock the knowledge it is storing.

Once we determine exactly who and what is causing blocks in the client’s life, we use a set of four questions that allows the body to release the block it has been holding on to.  We then re-do the muscle test to see if the block has been released.

Often it is astoundingly easy to release things that have been bothering people for years:  they may have used talk therapy, prescription drugs, or other methods to try to get over a relationship or experience, but since they never before approached it from a mind/body perspective, their body didn’t know it was time to release the block.  Our bodies are alive and very responsive to our directives; we just have to know how to talk to our bodies to create change.

The next step:  Kantillation… the future!
Once a client has finished doing New Decision Therapy (which usually takes 1 to 2 sessions), they can go on to do Kantillation™.  That is, the client is finished with their past, their energy is flowing freely and with joy, and they are ready to plan their future!

In a Kantillation™ session, we make sure the energy is flowing properly through the 13 major meridians of the body, the main categories of the meridians acupuncturists use.  We do this by simply muscle testing the client’s fingers while the client holds their other hand over each meridian point.  If a meridian tests weak instead of strong, we go through a set of statements that help the body release the blocks it has in that meridian, using the knowledge we previously gathered during the NDT session.  Then we retest, to make sure the meridian is now unblocked.

We use the same technique to test any hope or plan the client has (for instance, finding a life partner or starting a new business), to see exactly what is blocking the client from achieving their goal.  We then release whatever the block is, using the technique just described, and the client is now ready to go out and transform their hopes and dreams into action and reality.
